A&S Enterprises Ltd, founded in 2001, has grown its reputation as a successful, family-owned construction and building services company. Based near Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, we are situated within convenient distance of all major road networks.

We are a dynamic, trustworthy developer undertaking individual construction contracts throughout the Midlands, valued up to circa £5m.

We are a fast-track contractor priding ourselves on our performance and customer satisfaction. Whatever the contract, we will ensure a first-class, comprehensive combination of quality, competency and dedication to ensure the end result is exactly what you need.

Our specialist areas of expertise include contracting, development and maintenance within commercial, industrial, education and housing sectors. These include turnkey projects and integrated developments.

By engaging local consultants best suited to your project, we will prepare drawings, seek planning and building regulation approval, project manage your project professionally and provide full after sales and maintenance call-out services.

Typical examples of our work include: commercial contracts, partnering, design & build, industrial units, housing developments and property maintenance work in both the private and public sectors.

Health & Safety: procedures are in place to ensure that work is completed safely on site, in accordance with current Health & Safety regulations.




A&S Enterprises was established:

Nurtured in humble beginnings in the family garage, we grew this family-owned construction company through dedication and a passion for what we do.

A&S Enterprises relocate to purpose built offices and workshops at Lancaster Business Park.

Quality Award & Civic Award:

Received for the total construction of the Pavilion at Branston Golf and Country Club. Recognition was given for the quality of the construction of this prestigious project. This high specification building includes banqueting and meeting rooms with several bars.


Construction of 38 apartments – Curzon Street, Burton on Trent (value £3.0m):

This is a classical style 5 storey building comprising 38 apartments. The building has reconstructed stone features and an impressive mansard roof. We utilised our own mechanical and electrical companies to ensure an efficient progression through to completion.

Hamlet new homes Ltd said:

‘The Contract was carried out in an extremely professional manner and throughout I had total confidence in your ability to turn our vision into reality. The finished product is built to an excellent standard’ and was completed ‘4 weeks ahead of schedule’.

FINALIST - National Building Awards:

Received for the ‘Best New Firm of the Year’ and the ‘Best Contractor under £500m turnover’. The prestigious Building Awards took place at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London. Stringent criteria included: achievement, innovative solutions, business flair, forward business plan, financial strength and customer satisfaction.

Gayton Swimming Pool:

The Pride Park Project Manager (Derby City Council) said:

‘All of the politicians and colleagues I have shown around the new building have said what a fine building it is…Please thank all of your team for their hard work on this scheme…it has been a pleasure working with your team on the Gayton scheme’.


WINNER - Staffordshire Building Excellence Award:

This was awarded by Staffordshire Building Control Group for buildings under £1m. It was received for the construction of the new Indoor Tennis Centre at Stafford Sports College. The new £900,000 building was in the category for the best ‘Public Building under £1m’. The centre, which was funded by the LTA, was officially opened by Greg Rusedski and LTA Chief Executive, Roger Draper.


FINALIST - LABC East Midlands Awards

Received for the best conversion of a building into dwellings. The project was the conversion of the Estate Yard at Ticknall into dwellings for the Harpur Crewe Estate.


Veterinary Hospital Pride Park (value £3m):

This project, for Scarsdale Vets, is a major training facility, in conjunction with Nottingham University School of Veterinary Medicine & Science.

Scarsdale Veterinary Group said: ‘Your building team were courteous and polite, clean and tidy and worked easily within a medical facility within the boundaries of dirty, clean and sterile zones’.


FINALIST - LABC East Midlands Building Excellence Awards:

The award was in the ‘Best Small Commercial Building’ category. The Gateway Project was to create new innovation units adjacent to Mansfield Woodhouse railway station. The project achieved BREEAM Excellent rating and scored highly under the Considerate Constructors scheme with a ‘beyond compliance’ certificate.


Sawley Medical Centre (value £1.65m):

Allan Joyce Architects said:

 ‘A&S Enterprises provided invaluable input to keep the budget on track and were always on hand to contribute to technical solutions as the need arose…We wouldn’t hesitate in recommending them to our clients’.

St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice, Grantham Hospital In-Patient Unit:

The Project Manager from St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice said that the unit was :

 ‘the first of its kind in the country, and it was therefore critically important that we got everything right…the work was completed with minimum disruption to the rest of the hospital…The unit is beautiful and has delivered what we set out to achieve…Patients and visitors are also enjoying sitting outside in the tranquil courtyard garden.’

This project won an award in 2015 : Winner at the 17th Annual Building Better Healthcare (BBH) awards at The Brewery in London


WINNER - at the 17th Annual Building Better Healthcare (BBH) Awards:

St Barnabas Hospice at Grantham General Hospital

Melbourne Park Medical Centre, Nottingham – for Haven Healthcare (value £1.7m)

This involved the construction of a new build two storey extension, with complete internal alterations to the existing single storey medical centre. Included was an integrated pharmacy unit, associated car parking, external works, drainage and services.

Joseph Whittaker School, Nottingham

A challenging project, which involved building over an existing swimming pool to create a 2 storey classroom/lecture facility, café/staff offices/reception upstairs. This was built on a busy school campus and involved demolition and alterations to existing facilities.

The Parkside Project for Chesterfield Borough Council (value £2.7m)

This comprised New Extra Care Housing (22 units).


FINALIST - LABC East Midlands Building Awards

Wyggeston & Queen Elizabeth 1 College, Leicester     (value £1.48m)

A&S Enterprises were finalists for the ‘Best Educational Building’, ‘Best Public Service Building’ and ‘Best Change of Use of Existing Building or Conversion’.

This project comprised a 4 phased approach, involving the conversion, extension and refurbishment of a busy college site. Also incorporated were considerable Grade 2 listed works to the George Thompson Library Building.

New Maths Block & Refectory at Chellaston Academy (value £3.5m)

Carried out in two phases,this comprised the design and construction of a new two storey maths classroom block with a refectory to part of the ground floor. Site works included: access roads, car parking, drainage, external services, lighting, minor landscaping and the demolition of the existing maths block.

West Bridgford School, Nottingham (value £2.74m)

This project comprised a 2 storey Post-16 Centre extension and a single storey Basic Needs Unit.

Wigston Academy, Station Road, Leicester (value £2.5m)

This involved redevelopment works of the campus in 3 sections: a flexible learning space, an office extension and a training centre.

This was received for the ‘Best Public Service Building’ and was also a

FINALIST- for ‘Best Large Commercial Project’.

FINALIST - East Midlands Celebrating Construction Awards for the ‘Project of the Year’.

Woodward Veterinary Practice, Ashby de la Zouch, Leics.

Henry Mein Partnership Architects said : ‘We appreciated very much the positive, proactive approach you took in delivering the scheme,, and the excellent communication at all levels which facilitated this…The finished quality of the works was of the highest standard, but of course we have come to expect that from A&S!’
